New play equipment (posted 26.7.15)
Just in time for the School Summer holidays (!) three new items of play equipment have been installed at the Staplecross Playing Field and Children's Play Area: a jungle climber, team swing and zip wire (bottom of the field). They were funded by the Staplecross Playing Field charity (of which, Ewhurst Parish Council is the sole managing trustee), Rother District Council's Community Grants scheme and the office of the Police & Crime Commissioner.

This installation follows the provision of shelter just behind the play area and next to St Mark's Church. It is hoped that these initiatives will be followed up with outdoor gym equipment so that there is something of interest to all age groups.

Herdman Pavilion completed (posted 5.10.13)
The new Arthur Herdman Pavilion was officially opened by Rother District Council Chairman, Councillor Ian Jenkins on 27 July. Parish Council Chairman, Councillor Brigitte Fifield compered the event which was attended by around 100 residents, invited guests, Parish Councillors and those who had worked on the project - either as a contractor or a volunteer. The opening ceremony was followed by the annual Ewhurst Green BBQ - which at least got off to a dry start!

The intention is that the pavilion and main playing area will be managed on behalf of the Herdman Bequest charity by a new charity set up for this very purpose, the Herdman Association (with the Parish Council being one of its trustees).

For the time being, if you would like to hire the pavilion please contact us in the first instance.

Herdman Pavilion survey (posted 20.10.11)
Ewhurst Parish Council is currently undertaking a survey of parishioners and local clubs and societies in order to gauge support for a proposal to replace the dilapidated pavilion at the Herdman Playing Field, Ewhurst Green. We also need to know whether you, your family or an organisation you are involved with might be interested in using a new pavilion.

Survey forms are being distributed to every household in the parish between 15 October and 28 October. The deadline for the return of completed forms is Friday 18 November. If you have not received a survey form by 29 October please email us. Forms may be returned to the Staplecross shop or may be scanned and emailed to office@rothervoluntaryaction.org.uk.
